Rebecca Bond MA

Somatic Movement Educator, Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher, Therapist

My name is Becky and I have been working as a holistic practitioner for more than a decade.

Well- being, health, and resilience is a priority, not a luxury.

Stripping away the material trappings of so-called self-care, we can return to our abundant source of that which replenishes and restores us, and rediscover that which is most important…

…To know our self, our motivations, what uplifts  us, connects us to our innate wholeness, and sustains us in our service to the world… knowing that we always and already have access to our own embodied expertise, an indwelling and inalienable authority which empowers us to live our most authentic lives…

My Story

I began teaching one to one guided mediation and relaxation techniques to clients in 2009, working intuitively to empower individuals through difficult life circumstances including separation, bereavement, and ongoing medical concerns.

Later, as a health professional providing complex and end of life care, I began to appreciate the unique benefits of regular yoga and mindfulness practice in maintaining my own sense of centeredness, empathy, and flexibility in a very demanding work environment.

As a health care provider, I had patients in their forties who could no longer dress themselves; and as a yoga teacher, I had students in their eighties standing on their heads; I had highly successful friends whose mental health crumbled overnight, to the point of being unable to take care of their own most basic needs.

I began to see with increasingly clarity, how the capacity for ease and confidence in movement, to live without pain or fear of pain (physical or psychological), is inherently related to a person’s sense of potential, freedom, and security.  Exploring this further brought me into the field of yoga therapy and somatics, and then to embodied psychology and creative arts practice, culminating in a master’s degree in Somatic Movement Education.

My Approach

I now work to provide bespoke wellbeing services to individual and corporate clients, and charities.

This includes:

  • Group and private movement classes, typically a synthesis of yoga and somatics.
  • Mindfulness, meditation, and relaxation packages.
  • Hands on bodywork (reflexology, Indian head massage, reiki).
  • Creative arts practice workshops- Living Creatively with Mental Health.

I bring together

  • the physical practices of yoga and somatic movement
  • the practice of mindfulness and skill of dual awareness
  • the power of imagination, visualisation, and creative expression
  • body and energy work using touch
  • and a witnessing presence.

I approach embodied holistic practice in a way that

  • supports us in the moment
  • helps us access our inner resources for healing and transformation
  • and connects us to that beyond our individual self.

    My values and beliefs

    • I believe that physical, psychological, and social wellbeing is a right.
    • I believe wellbeing is the joint responsibility of the individual and the collective.
    • I believe that no individual or system is naturally dysfunctional. Returning to health and thriving is possible when we focus on what is already working.
    • I believe in cultivating a business culture that sincerely prioritises, promotes, and protects the wellbeing of its people- that models healthy work life balance, recognises inspiring leadership (at all levels), and empowers all employees.
    • I believe in striving for personal and professional excellence without killing oneself in the process!
    • I believe rest, recovery, and creativity are essential to self-regulation, problem solving, forging trusting relationships, and growth.

I believe we are worthy and deserving of having life, and life in all its fullness
